Update from CEO

Update from Nigel Pocklington, CEO

It has been a tumultuous few weeks and months in the energy market. Good Energy is financially stable, but the wider energy crisis has been revealing — caused largely by the UK’s over reliance on the global fossil fuel market.

Its timing was harshly relevant, coming immediately before COP26 when the UK’s climate leadership was under scrutiny. I travelled to Glasgow for the conference, joining Good Energy’s founder Juliet Davenport for a panel discussion on Energy Day covering our Renewable Nation report. You can watch the event back here.

The report, and our discussion, focussed on the progress needed in energy not only to meet the UK’s carbon reduction targets, but to avoid future fossil fuel driven crises by investing in a home grown renewables industry.
